I've spent the past 7 years doing web design both as a hobby and as a profession. It's something I do alongside my programming skills and also a good selling point for employment, because for some odd reason, sweatshops like to charge out the ying-yang for nasty looking website designs.

Most of the stuff I've done over the years has long since been dissolved into the nothingness that is the dot-BOMB; however, a lot of my most recent work is still intact. Below are just a few of the things I've done over the years (Click on the thumbnails to view a larger version):

Programming

ScrabbleNET is a game that I did in my spare time with Win32 GDI in C. It's slow and was not meant to really turn into anything useful for anyone other than for myself and some friends in Raleigh who like to play Scrabble a lot. I will port the client over to DirectX one of these days if I ever get around to it, but right now it works and that's all that matters to me! The game is strictly for internet play with up to 4 individuals. You can also have more than 4 people in the game but the first four are players... the rest are observers of the match. There's full chat and scoring available, because my ex was too darn lazy to write down our scores on paper from his apartment. I had to stay up late and write a damn scoring algorithm. Damn you Chris... damn you :P All in all, it's a great experience to develop something like this on my own.

NOTE: I do not have the code nor the executables online, because I don't want to be sued by Hasbro!
Candidates Be Damned is a game that Maurice and I worked on. It is programmed in Win32 C/C++ with DirectDraw 7.0 API. I did the client while Maurice worked exclusively with the back-end of the game. While the code isn't online, we do have a downloadable client. Visit the website here...

Website Development

This is the mock-up of the official Imperator website, a new game in development by my company. I didn't have too much to work off of, since it's in early development, but I hope to redo a lot of it as we get more content and art assets.
Here we have the second version of the DAOC website that I did. This was based off of a Trials of Atlantis theme. Most of the designs from here on out will follow this same layout, only I will change the images and colors to match the current expansion pack.
And here we have the Frontiers themed DAOC official product site.
Trials of Atlantis is the second retail expansion pack put out for DAOC. This is the official website design for the product.
Mythic Entertainment is the company that created DAOC and is currently working on Imperator. This is our corporate website, where information about the company and basic information about our products is presented to the public.
The Camelot Herald is the community site for DAOC players. It's where Sanya can communicate news and updates to the players as well as a spot to get information about the game... much more detailed information actually. This site is like my baby, well, mostly Scott's baby, but I took over when he moved to server programming. I am responsible for the upkeep of this website and new content that may appear on it including Map-a-lot, Housing Directory, etc. It has gone through many changes in the past year. This site is fully driven by a mySQL database and PHP scripting... there's so much stuff going on in the back-end to keep the game data up-to-date as well.
This is the second huge design I did for the Herald. Most players seemed to enjoy the dark theme before, but I added a feeling of a keep to it. I also gave it some texture in the form of grain.
The current design of the Herald is a very light theme. I don't really like jumping from dark to light themes on a site, especially when the game is very dark and brooding due to a war between three realms. Players have gotten used to it, and yes it's easier to read, but I'm still pushing for returning to a darker background :P (<--- that face is for Matt!)
I went through a period of time where I played Star Wars Galaxies a LOT. I don't know why. I just enjoyed running around and making food for people who didn't use it for anything other than in-game weddings. From this, I suppose I would enjoy shooting myself in the foot 10 times too. Anyhow, my guild and I opened up a shop and named it Banthamart. This was our website where we had a full storefront driven by mySQL and PHP. Most of my experience on the Herald led to the construction of the site's backend, where users could send us messages, purchase items, etc. It was great fun while it lasted. The site is long gone now at least until I feel like reviving it (by playing SWG again, I suppose) but you can view the Macromedia flash introduction here.
